ROAD CLOSURE
We would like to inform the Hilo community of the upcoming road closure due to the 61st Annual Merrie Monarch Festival Royal Parade.
This event will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, and will result in the closure of Kamehameha Avenue between Waianuenue Ave. and Suisan Bridge, Pauahi Street, Kīlauea Avenue. between Pauahi St. and Ponahawai St., Keawe St., and Waianuenue Ave .
Road Closure Details:
Date and Time: Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Affected Area: Downtown Hilo Area (Kamehameha Avenue between Waianuenue Ave. and Suisan Bridge, Pauahi Street, Kīlauea Avenue. between Pauahi St. and Ponahawai St., Keawe St., and Waianuenue Ave.)
Purpose: The closure is necessary to facilitate the safe passage of parade participants and ensure the smooth execution of the event.
Alternative Routes:
During the road closure, motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
Parking Restrictions:
Please note that parking will be restricted along the parade route and adjacent streets during the specified times. We kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to these restrictions to minimize disruptions.
